We value your dog’s safety and comfort and ask that all of our guests read and understand our policies and requirements.

Our policies apply to all services offered by Briar Meadows.

Vaccination Policy

We require the following canine vaccinations:

  • DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
  • Rabies
  • Bordetella

Veterinary certificates will be required prior to arrival. In order to maintain the overall health and safety of all our guests, we will be unable to provide services or accommodations without proof of up-to-date vaccinations.

Intact dogs under 12 months of age are welcome in daycare pending assessment, and eligibility may change as the dog matures. Please note that intact dogs over 12 months of age are not eligible for our daycare program, and will instead be provided with supervised playtimes and/or walks with a staff member.

What to Bring

Overnight Belongings

We provide blankets/bedding/toys for all dogs boarding. Please only bring their food and treats if you wish.


In order to help prevent any gastrointestinal issues please bring your pet’s own food. Please bring enough food for 1-2 days more than booked so that we have extra in case of unforeseen circumstances. For longer stays, feel free to bring your dogs food in the original bag, otherwise we ask that bags or containers be sized appropriately to how much they will consume while boarding.


If your dog has medication to be administered during their stay please bring all medications in the clearly labelled original bottle.


A 50% non-refundable, non-transferable deposit will be required for all Peak Rate bookings, as well as for any booking of 7+ days. Peak Rate bookings of 2 nights or less are required to pay the full invoice in lieu of deposit.

Deposits are due at the time of booking, and will be applied to the invoice when the dog arrives for its stay.

Cancellations/No-Show/Late Fees

Cancellations will only be processed during office hours. Requests received outside of office hours will be processed the following day. Emergency circumstance must be approved by management. Cancellation fees are 50% of the total balance owing for the reservation.
A late cancellation fee will be applied to boarding reservations cancelled within 24 hours without emergency circumstances.

A late cancellation fee will be applied to daycare reservations cancelled the day of the visit without emergency circumstances.

No-shows will be charged the full amount of the daycare, boarding, grooming reservation, barring emergency circumstance.

In the event that a late arrival occurs after 15mins of closing office hours, you will automatically be enrolled in our private pick up fee of $30.00 for boarding and daycare services. If late for a walk in grooming appointment, if it cannot be rescheduled, a 50% fee will occur.


All payments are non-refundable. In the event of emergency or extenuating circumstance [to be determined by management] a credit will be placed on the account.

In the event of early return/departure the full amount of the invoice is still due. Credits will not be given other than in emergency circumstances.

Dog & Staff Safety

All dogs must be under control when entering or exiting the facility. All dogs must be on leash, and if there is history of reactivity the dog must be properly muzzled. If you forgot or misplaced your leash please let a staff member know and they will be happy to lend you one to move your dog between the facility and your vehicle!

If your dog is not under control on its own equipment (collar, harness, gentle leader, halti, etc) our staff will be using a slip-leash or martingale collar to ensure safe handling and movement within the facility.

Should a dog display nervous or reactive tendencies that do not allow staff to provide basic necessities of life such as food, water or shelter without risk of harm to their person, we will not be able to provide daily activities such as daycare, playtimes or walks. If a dog is in danger of self-harm due to fear, nervousness or reactivity we will require the dog be picked up by the owner or emergency contact.


Photos of the dogs will be taken on days when the dogs have access to our full outdoor daycare area, and posted every few days as time/weather permits.

Customer Conduct

Rude or aggressive behavior directed at staff members or the facility will result in immediate cessation of all current and future business interactions. This includes but is not limited to raised voices, swearing, threats and physical contact.
